Real Madrid midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni reportedly clashed twice during training this week.
Spanish media claimed Tchouameni punched Valverde during one argument. Valverde then hit his head on a table and suffered a serious cut. Staff later spotted him leaving the training ground in a wheelchair.
Valverde later denied that punches were thrown. He admitted he suffered a minor injury but avoided discussing the full incident.
The situation forced the entire squad into an emergency meeting. Florentino Pérez personally stepped in to calm tensions inside the club.
Reports also claimed the club fined both players 500,000 euros each. Madrid will now miss one of their most important midfielders for the biggest match of the season. That alone makes Valverde Real Madrid one of the biggest concerns ahead of El Clásico.
Problems Inside the Dressing Room
The tension inside Madrid did not appear overnight. Reports suggest the squad has remained divided for months.
Some players supported former manager Xabi Alonso, while others wanted change. The split reportedly damaged relationships inside the dressing room.
Another report claimed Antonio Rüdiger slapped Álvaro Carreras during a separate training ground argument.
At the same time, Kylian Mbappé remains doubtful for Sunday because of injury problems.
Barcelona have reacted very differently. Dani Olmo recently celebrated his birthday with teammates in a video the club posted online. The caption read “celebrating in family,” and many fans viewed it as a subtle dig at Madrid’s current problems.

Álvaro Arbeloa’s Madrid side trail Hansi Flick’s Barcelona by 11 points with only four matches left.
A draw or defeat would officially hand the league title to FC Barcelona at home.
That pressure makes Sunday even more dramatic. Madrid enter the match without Valverde and possibly without Mbappe. The squad has spent more time handling internal problems than preparing for football.
